Market Outreach Report 002
Prepared for Council Review

Council Members,

I am pleased to report that the second phase of the merchandising initiative has been completed.

After extensive discussion with Brother Joshua, our apparel catalog has been expanded to include, as Brother Joshua says, “A more badass thematic thing.”

The original line utilizes the album artwork itself and is intended for those who, according to Brother Joshua, appreciate the 'dope ass' artwork. I do believe he is starting to affect my elocution.

The second line, referred to as the "Sigil Collection," replaces the album artwork with symbolic iconography representing each album while placing the respective sigil upon the reverse side of the garment.

Brother Joshua has assured me this distinction is "important." That the sigils are “BAM! In your ****ing face!”

I have elected not to argue.

Premium hooded garments have also been introduced. They feature the sigils upon the front and the complete album artwork upon the reverse. This was my idea as it is a more premium look than the originals. Brother Joshua could not be found for discussion, so I did it anyway. I later learned he was hiding in a closet trying to “Make realistic alien sounds”.

The result is a merchandise lineup where every item is visually distinct. This has unfortunately resulted in multiple individuals expressing a desire to purchase more than one variation.

Brother Joshua referred to this outcome as "a complete victory."

I am beginning to understand why the entertainment industry functions the way it does.

I would also like to report that Brother Joshua has commissioned additional artwork depicting individual locations, creatures, and significant events from his “Dredge” album. He insists these are not merely illustrations, but "marketing assets." Also, why is he so focused on Dredge?

His explanation lasted approximately forty-five minutes and involved references to environmental storytelling, independent game development, YouTube algorithms, and a Swedish progressive metal band.

Should these materials prove successful, he intends to expand the same initiative to the original “Starfallen” album he made.

At the current rate of expansion, I estimate Brother Joshua will eventually possess enough visual documentation to accidentally establish an entire fictional universe.

I have informed him this is not generally how music promotion works.

He informed me that this is "exactly the point."

I have elected not to argue.

Respectfully,

Brother Crowe Mortismer
