Starfallen Act III Story Notes
X: Germinal Alveus

Underneath the Temple of the One. Where the infant alien tunneled and rested before the Monks found it accidentally.
Gillean has defeated an alien creature and given Vaelor the rest he deserves. Gillean delves even deeper into the temple, finding the pathway and ancient ruins that go deep into the planet, where the infantile alien had slept. Courtesy of his earlier vision.
This is where Vaelor had found and defeated the alien before bringing it up. Vaelor had inadvertently broken the alien's link to the planet by discovering the ruins and attacking it. Vaelor was the reason the impossible had happened. In these ruins Gillean finds the knowledge that these creatures can be killed by cutting off their connection to the core before they fully gestate. It would not help him defeat the fully mature one that had destroyed his planet, but he had something. Any win he could.
XI: Tabernaculum I: Breach

The military finally finds Gillean after his ship is destroyed in Act II by tracking the signal of where it last was. They remove him from the planet and question him as they prepare to head back to their home base. Gillean tells them everything that happened.
They deem everything to be a PTSD induced hallucination, believing only that this cult may be real based on his planet's destruction but nothing of the alien creature. As they question him, they notice a ship approaching.
Carmach wastes no time. He had heard the cries of the alien Gillean had killed. He was a threat. They fire upon the military ship. There would be no survivors. Gillean watches in horror as the cult finally reveals itself. Ten times more brutal and powerful than he had ever dreamed. Carmach leads from inside the ship, directing his ascended men. He is not human anymore. A failed god from his experiments. A halfway between human and squid like monster.
This song encompasses the attack and Gillean watching the military men around him decimated. At the end of the song he makes the decision to breach the enemy ship, wanting to take out whoever commanded them from within. Even if it cost him his life. He watches as the military ship is destroyed, all aboard now gone.
XII: Tabernaculum II: Abattoir

Location:
Aboard Father Carmach’s cult assault ship. Not a ship anymore, but something almost alive.
Gillean enters the cult ship in one last ditch effort. It is not even a ship at this point. More an alien lifeform itself. The walls alive around him, the cultists either dead or evolved into something not human. He makes his way to the deck, intent on killing the head priest (Carmach).
Will this end the nightmare? No. Any victory after the hell they have brought on him is worth the price though. Even if it kills him. Even if he goes down with nothing but cult corpses, he won't turn back, he can't.
This is not the hard hitting or even horror ending one would envision. This is something else. An evolution bereft of an ending. The cultists do not attack him. Just stare. He moves first to the ship’s engine room, planting bombs he had taken from the military ship before it was destroyed. Then he moves towards the front of the ship to confront Carmach.
The song ends with the Main leitmotif of “Starfallen”. This moment and final solo is Gillean entering the main sanctum of the ship and confronting Father Carmach. Now a failed godlike creature. This is the cliffhanger that leads into the next EP with the song/boss fight “Father Carmach, Null Reprobate”
