Dredge, Behind-The-Scenes!

Good afternoon,

I wanted to give some notes on the upcoming album, Dredge, and my process/release schedule. Research Notes are for both storyline notes and for knowing me better.

So, Dredge itself! This is a Sidequel/Sequel to Starfallen. It takes place during all of the Starfallen album and even beyond it (and even into right before the next storyline arc) and closes out every major storyline element introduced while still keeping the mature alien lifeform as a string left open.

The basic premise is that Dredge, a cult inquisitor, is sent to investigate one of Father Carmach’s labs which has gone dark. Dredge is both a name and a rank, and he is much different from Gillean. Ruthless, strong, loyal to the cult, but not always in agreement with their choices.

Carmach and Dredge are essentially factions within the cult itself, both being of equal rank. Carmach is the scientist, experimenting and creating wonders and abominations. Dredge is the religious man who wants balance and order. They both answer to a council.

I have a full rough draft completed that I am editing and changing around every single day. It is an evolution of the Starfallen sound. It is way heavier, more punchy, better mixed, and has a tighter pacing. You enter the facility with Dredge and are right there with him as he delves deeper and deeper into Facility Theta. You can hear this rough draft on SoundCloud!

Dredge, the single and first track, will be available to stream on all major streaming services on 7/31. My plan is a month after that will be the Research Wing Theta single, and then at the beginning of October, a full album release! Exciting! And terrifying!

I plan to do some videos showing off my process of writing and stuff on Reaper to show you that I really do play it all myself and learn how to mix/master as I go. Thank you Reddit for all of the information! I just have to logistically figure this out and decide how I want to do it. None of my music is AI and AI has no place in my sound!

So there! Expect a lot from Dredge! I am very proud of the absolutely massive increase in quality from Starfallen (which was made last year and only released recently as I literally learned how to use a DAW while making it). There is more after Dredge too! I have a ton planned, but expect this to work as a different “arc”. The Starfallen arc ends with Dredge!
